July 3, 2009 - eircom today officially launched a new website www.gaelicrising.ie, the latest in a suite of dedicated sport websites provided by eircom.net, Ireland’s leading indigenous web portal. Created by fans for fans, GaelicRising.ie is an unofficial gaelic games community site featuring all there is to know about hurling and football in Ireland.
Devoted entirely to Irish hurling and football, eircom’s new website features all the latest and up to the minute championship news through comprehensive newsfeeds. Registered users will also benefit from top player reviews as voted for by gaelicrising.ie fans as well as an extensive video library featuring interviews with hurling and football heroes such as Ollie Moran, Tommy Walsh, Tadhg Kennelly and more.
Similar to eircom’s successful and recently launched dedicated soccer website, SoccerRepublic.ie, the new Gaelic games site will feature a social networking forum where fans can discuss and debate every clash of the ash and referee call, create their own profile, set up groups, upload pictures as well as uploading videos of interest.
Of particular interest to fans is the new online interactive game, Fantasy Manager where registered users can compete against friends and rivals alike in their very own mini-league competition. Provided by expert partner Finisco Ltd., Fantasy Manager maximises the latest in gaming technology. Not only will fans get to test their skills for free but there is also a top prize of €1,000 up for grabs for the overall winner of each hurling and football game as well as monthly prizes to be won.
