Configuration Management

Within their Global Environment Management Suite, our client had a number of issues that needed to be addressed. These included, but were not limited to -
  • Manually intensive environment scheduling and tracking process
  • No central view of environment assets – hard to apportion cost and identify potential cost savings
    • Multiple sources, redundancy of data
    • Current project specific systems impossible to integrate
    • Lack of central repository requires point solutions to automate gathering of environment data
    • Inability to have an authoritative overview of End to End environments
  • No recording of deployed labels
  • No universal standard release process, which increases complexity and risk
    • No central repository for build information
    • Requirement to manage builds into release
Using the ADaM Framework the client was able to -
  • Automate the scheduling and tracking process
  • Obtain a centralized view of environment assets in pre and post production
  • Identify multiple redundant components
  • Report on all changes, updates, implementations and migrations
  • Put in place a universal standard release process through the project functions within the ADaM Framework
  • Significantly reduce the time to production due to the significantly reduced time for testing once the dependencies had been diligently mapped across the landscape
When migrating services it is important to employ a tool and methodology that allows you to Know, Plan and Control all aspects of the migration project.
